I have never been married and feeling pretty independent, I have never been in a hurry to marry. A good friend of mine encouraged me to get back into the dating scene two years ago, so I signed up on Match.com. Within a week I would say, I met Shannon online and quickly built a rapport. We had our first date at boutique wine shop in Dripping Springs (Epicure) and had an immediate connection (I think I got her attention with the charcuterie board I preordered). I knew after that first date that she was the one. I needed more time to find out more about my Sugar Britches and have been/still are dating. Actually, I’m looking forward to dating the rest of our life.

Rhett and I met on match.com, I was the second person he ever met on the dating site! Our first date was on June 23, 2022, at Epicure in Dripping Springs, and Rhett pre-ordered a charcuterie board. I like to joke not only could he spell it correctly, but he also had my heart at “charcuterie!” It’s rare to meet someone online that lives within 10 miles, and we loved to do so many of the same things. I found out Rhett is a committed Christian, loved singing in his church choir, made wine tasting a regular outing, and we were meant to be best buds. It’s amazing to fall in love with your best friend. Two years later, he took me to dinner at Tillie’s at Camp Lucy, a special place where we had decided to date only each other, and he got on one knee in front of Ian's chapel and an entire wedding party, asked if I would love him forever! I said yes, of course, we rang the chapel bell and celebrated with friends whom Rhett had planned to meet us there after dinner.
